Bubbles is a Mac app. Open this page on your Mac to try it.

Where you put it, it stays.

A desktop you only see when you want it. Put things where you like; they're in the same place every time you call them.

Bubbles on a Mac desktop: two notes on the left, an image and a link at the top, a proposal, a folder, a setlist and a mixdown on the right, and the + bubble in the middle

Notes on the left, the link and picture you keep going back to up top, work on the right.

Three moves.

Drag the icon out

Into Finder, Mail or any app. You get a copy, and the original stays where it was.

Drag the rim

Move a bubble anywhere on the screen. Next time you call them, it's there.

Carry it onto +

The + turns into a bin and the bubble is gone. ⌘Z brings it back until you quit.

Questions.

Does Bubbles move or copy my files?
Neither, until you ask. A file bubble points to the file where it already is. When you drag it out you get a copy, and the original stays where it was.
Where are my notes and images kept?
On your Mac, in the Bubbles folder in Application Support. Once a day Bubbles also saves a copy of your list of bubbles and your notes, and keeps the last seven. In Settings, under Storage, you can see the folder.
Will the bubbles get in my way?
Only when you call them. They come up on your shortcut or when you drag a file, and go away with a click anywhere else.
Can I change the shortcut?
Yes, in Settings, under General. If another app already uses the one you pick, Bubbles says so and keeps the shortcut that worked.
How do the trial and the license work?
Try it free for 7 days, no card needed. Then pay $14.99 once and it keeps working, with every 1.x update. Ending the trial deletes nothing: your bubbles wait for a license key (a bubble you set to be forgotten at a certain time still goes then). Refunds within 14 days.
Does it collect any data?
No. No analytics, no telemetry, no account. Bubbles goes online only to check for updates and to check your license key.
